November 20, 2004 - mama's so proud of her little boy-
Big milestones in my little boy's life today. First, Everett decided to use chopsticks at Noodlin' to eat his "twirly pasta" with cheese sauce. I fondly watched him, sure he'd give up in a minute and use his fingers.
But no, my boy amazed me by picking up a twirly noodle and getting it all the way to his mouth on the first try (he held them in his fist, but hey - it worked!). He went on to eat several more before giving up and switching to fingers. And switching to my verrrry long udon noodles, which was hilarious.
What a prodigy. A few minutes later, we stopped at a candy store as a bribe so I could stop running (ummm...anyone else think this is backwards? well, I'm pregnant and it was cold out there). As I always tell him that we have to pay for things before I will open them for him, he picked out one (1) piece of candy, no whining, no screaming, then saw the candy store woman waiting for us, ran up to her, and said, "pay for it, mama!" setting his candy on the counter for her.
I almost fell over from surprise. The candy meister was equally impressed at his well-behaved manner. You'd almost think I was raising a sweet, exuberant, but perfectly behaved little boy!
Then, just now, he said "thank you" without any incorrect accents or his usual "g" replacement for "th". Of course, a minute later, he was back to "gank oo!"
What a smart boy. Now if I could only teach him to stop using mama as a ladder...
